Fiddleback Productions is the umbrella under which I, Brian Casey, release all the little things I do for public consumption. Games, podcasts, blog posts, and more, are all a Fiddleback Production run from my bedroom ‘studio’ and released in various places on the internet. If you want to find it, start by looking here.

I fell in love with role playing games thanks to the red box Dungeons & Dragons in the ‘70s. Turns out I enjoyed it so much I got into other kinds of games; board games, card games, miniatures, and even video games. Now I make podcasts about games and gaming and the people who play them. I always want to look beyond the rules and mechanics of a game to see how people connect with it and why they do what they do when they play.
I started making podcasts over ten years ago. There wasn’t a lot of information about how to do it back then, so I had to teach myself and learn by doing. Now I’m an old hand at it and have at least a half-dozen more under my belt. You never know when another one might pop up.
Perhaps my most well known podcast is GM Word of the Week a podcast focused on interesting words GMs and DMs may encountered when playing a variety of RPGs including Dungeons and Dragons and similar games. After 300+ episodes, it has now been retired, though it remains a valuable resource for gamers of all stripes.
My latest project is Notes from the Long Table, a podcast about Old School Essentials, the OSR, and how those are very different from your modern versions of D&D and other RPGs. Along with my actual notes from Refereeing OSE, I tell you what my game group has been up to in their latest adventures and frequently draw inspiration from them.
Because every gamer eventually tries it, I’ve published my own game. Transit: The Spaceship RPG asks a basic question: Would you like to fly a spaceship? It was far more successful than I had hoped.
